Due to the „Rechtsanwaltsvergütungsgesetz“ (RVG) we are authorized and obliged to levy V.A.T. (§ 2 II, n° 7008 VV RVG). Briefing a lawyer could cause further flat charges for disbursements, documents or journeys (§ 2 II, n° 7000-7006 VV RVG). Pursuant to § 9 RVG we are entitled to ask for an advance payment.

Our professional liability insurance is with the HDI-Gerling Firmen und Privat Versicherung AG, PO box 25 03 09, 90128 Nuremberg. The insured sum for economic loss amounts to € 1.0 mill. per event covered and to € 4.0 mill. at most per insurance year. With regard to the territorial scope of the insurance the particular conditions for lawyers provide an exclusion of insurance coverage for activities (a) through law offices or offices established or operated in other countries, (b) related to advice and occupation with non-European law, and (c) of lawyers in non-European courts.

In every case of using the designations of profession „Rechtsanwalt/Rechtsanwältin” or “Fachanwalt/Fachanwältin” the title is confered by the Federal Republic of Germany.
